This year, the Winter Olympics are being held in PyeongChang. In less than 22 days, the Olympics will begin in Korea, for the first time in 30 years.

The 17 day long event, running from February 9th, to February 25th, will be host to 102 events in 15 sport disciplines. It will be the first ever Olympic Winter Games to award 100 gold medals. One of the first things to come to my mind when it comes to the Olympics, is the emblem. The symbolic rings, and their colours have such history. According to pyeongchang2018.com, “The emblem symbolizes a world open to everyone. It combines the image of ice and snow, winter sports stars (athletes), and people from all over the world, coming together in PyeongChang where heaven meets earth.”
