I absolutely love everything about the Fall. With the arrival of this amazing Season, I thought I would share this easy DIY Home Scents “recipe”. My Sister used it once for one of her Christmas gatherings many years ago and I’ve loved it ever since.
With ingredients that many of us already have in our kitchen, you may not even have to go out to get what you need! Your house/apartment will be filled with a warm, comforting, Fall scent in no time.
Boiling Autumn Spices
Ingredients
Palm-full of whole cloves
4-5 Bay leaves
2-3 Small Cinnamon Sticks (broken into pieces)
Whole Nutmeg
Orange, sliced
Instructions
Fill the saucepan with enough water to cover the spices and orange slices. I also added a few drops of Vanilla Extract.
Bring the water to a boil and then reduce it to a simmer; let the aroma fill your home.
Just make sure to keep an eye on the water level. You don’t want to run out of water and have the smell of burnt oranges fill your living space instead.
